Argos Gift Card Terms & Conditions

  1. Gift Cards may be redeemed in full or part payment for goods in any UK Argos store, online at argos.co.uk and habitat.co.uk, including current promotional offers, at the prevailing prices listed.
  2. Gift Cards hold an expiry date, please refer to the date stated on your Gift Card for further information. If this is not detailed, please use the online balance and expiry date checker in the My Account section of the Argos.co.uk website.
  3. The number of Argos Gift Cards you can use in a single transaction for online purchases is limited to 3. If you have more than 4 Gift Cards or eGift Cards and would like to use them in a single transaction you may do this in-store.
  4. Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other gift cards.

Argos, Sainsbury’s, TU and Habitat (“Multi Brand”) Gift Card Terms & Conditions

  1. The Multi Brand Gift Card can be used in full or part for payment of products purchased in Sainsbury’s and Argos stores excluding concessions and third-party retailers (“Instore”) and online at argos.co.uk, Sainsburys.co.uk, tu.co.uk and habitat.co.uk (“Online”).

  2. How to redeem

    We may exclude specific products from purchase via Multi Brand Gift Card, please refer to:https://help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/products/about-sainsburys-giftcard for the Sainsbury’s full listing. You cannot use a gift card to purchase other gift cards.
    It is your responsibility to retain the Multi Brand Gift Card for use in any future transactions. There is no limit to the number of Multi Brand Gift Cards that can be used per transaction in Sainsbury’s Instore and Online but the maximum amount of Multi Brand Gift Card that can be used in Argos, Habitat and TU is three (3) per transaction. The maximum value that can be redeemed from Multi Brand Gift Card is a total of £250 per transaction. If items are returned to store in accordance with our refund policy https://help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/refunds-returns/what-isrefund-policy, and Returns, product support and repairs (argos.co.uk) any refund due will be issued to a new gift card.

    Redemption Instore:

    Multi Brand Gift Cards can be redeemed at point of purchase Instore If your Multi Brand Gift Card is on your smart phone device you can also redeem from your smart phone device or print and take Instore. After each use Instore any remaining balance on the Multi Brand Gift Card will be printed on a receipt. It is your responsibility to retain the receipt as evidence of your outstanding balance.

    To use the Multi Brand Gift Card online at www.sainsburys.co.uk it must be converted to an online coupon. To convert, enter your unique Multi Brand Gift Card code and PIN at checkout. If a valid code and PIN has been used, you will be asked to manually enter how much you wish to convert. If you convert only part of your Multi Brand Gift Card balance you will be asked to provide your valid code and PIN on any future conversions. Your online coupon held in your coupon wallet will expire 24 months after conversion. Any remaining balance must be paid for using another payment card. Minimum order value of £40 applies. Online delivery fees apply. A Multi Brand Gift Card cannot be used to pay for delivery charges.

    If goods are out of stock on your booked grocery delivery date Sainsbury’s will offer a substitute unless you tell us not to. If, as a result of substitutes, the value of your order drops below the value of your converted Multi Brand Gift Card applied to that transaction then the converted Multi Brand Gift Card payment will be used for the full value of your basket (excluding delivery charge). The balance will be credited to your Sainsbury’s online grocery coupon wallet as a new coupon to be used against an online grocery shop at Sainsbury’s within 24 months of conversion. If items are returned to store in accordance with our refund policy, https://help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/refunds-returns/what-isrefund-policy, any refund due will be credited to your Sainsbury’s online grocery coupon wallet.

    Argos.co.uk, TU.co.uk or Habitat.co.uk

    To use the Multi Brand Gift Card online at Argos.co.uk, TU.co.uk or Habitat.co.uk, input the card number and PIN at the payment stage of your order. The value of your purchase will be deducted from the value of the Gift card or eGift Card. If you do not spend the entire balance of the Gift Card or eGift Card, any remaining balance will remain on the Multi Brand Gift Card.
     
    Redemption Online requires registration depending on where you are redeeming the Multi Brand Gift Card. Multi Brand Gift Card holders must register at Sainsburys.co.uk and accept the terms and conditions and privacy policy.

  3. Personalisation of Multi Brand Gift Cards

    You should not use any personalised Multi Brand Gift Card that contains an image that infringes any copyright, is offensive, distasteful, degrading, threatening, pornographic, shows any kind of abuse, including but not limited to racial, religious or child abuse, considered a criminal offence or breach of applicable law or may in any way cause offence, could reflect negatively on the name, reputation, or goodwill of Sainsbury’s/Argos or any of its group companies, defames, misrepresents, or insults other people or companies or promotes any political agenda. Should a photo breach these terms we reserve the right to remove any Multi Brand Gift Card with immediate effect and if necessary, we will comply with any law enforcement as required.

  4. How to check your balance

    To confirm any remaining balance at any time please register your Multi Brand Gift Card online at https://help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/products/about-sainsburys-giftcard or https://help.argos.co.uk/help/products-&-giftcards/how-can-i-check-the-balance-on-my-argos-gift-card-or-egift-card/72464. You can also check any remaining balance Instore.

  5. Expiry

    The value of the Multi Brand Gift Card expires 60 months from the date of initial activation. If unused within this time the Multi Brand Gift Card will be deemed inactive and any remaining balance lost. We suggest you treat the Multi Brand Gift Card as cash – as they cannot be replaced if lost, damaged or stolen. We will not provide an expiry reminder.

All Argos and Multi Brand Gift Card Terms and Conditions

  1. No credit/payment

    The Gift Card are not a credit, payment or cheque guarantee card, cannot be redeemed for cash, for Sainsbury’s Bank products, services or credit card balances and cannot be resold or re-tendered.

  2. Unauthorised use

    We are not responsible for any unauthorised use of Gift Cards .

  3. Right to decline/withdraw

    We reserve the right to decline or withdraw Gift Cards , the right to amend these terms and conditions for Gift Cards at any time and to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of the Gift Cards. if, in our reasonable opinion we deem such action necessary.

    Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Limited of 33 Holborn Holborn EC1N 2HT is responsible for the fulfilment of the Multi Brand Gift Cards.

 

Voucher Express Terms & Conditions

Sales of Gift Cards are made, managed and fulfilled by Voucher Express - a trading name of Hemingways Marketing Services Ltd, Metcalfe House, 23H Kirkgate, Ripon. HG4 1PB, established 1947 and registered in England 453174. VAT Reg No: GB 169725424. Voucher Express is the seller of the gift cards.

Gift cards ordered through this site will be sent by Voucher Express to the email address provided at point of order.

Should you purchase an eGift card that you want to have personalised, you will need to upload a photo of your choice and add it to the email sent with the eGift Card. The uploading of your photo shall be at your own risk.

Any photo uploaded by you must be owned by you and it must not contain, including but not limited to any content that;

  • is offensive, distasteful, degrading, threatening, pornographic, shows any kind of abuse, including but not limited to racial, religious or child abuse, considered a criminal offence or breach of applicable law or may in any way cause offence;
  • could reflect negatively on the name, reputation, or goodwill of Argos or any of its group companies;
  • includes trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by the winner or used without the right holder's prior written permission (including famous names, company names, etc.);
  • defames, misrepresents, or insults other people or companies, including, but not limited to Argos or its group companies (including its partners);
  • promotes any political agenda; or
  • includes images of any third party who has not expressly consented.
Argos will not be held responsible or liable for any photo uploaded by you and will not be responsible for any loss of photos, however the loss occurs.

Should a photo breach these terms Argos reserves the right to remove it with immediate effect and if necessary, we will comply with any law enforcement as required.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the relevant computer system to upload your photo and that the photo will be free of viruses or infections that could contaminate or destroy our systems.

eGift cards will normally be delivered by email via Voucher Express on the day of purchase unless a specified later delivery date is requested. Where possible we will try to meet all delivery requirements but neither Voucher Express nor Argos shall be liable for any loss incurred either directly or indirectly by failure to meet the delivery date and time indicated at the time of order being placed. ‘Loss’ in this instance includes loss of profit, costs, damages, charges or other expenses.

Risk will pass to the customer upon delivery and title will pass upon receipt of payments in full. Neither Voucher Express nor Argos can be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged Gift Cards following delivery to the recipient. Gift Cards will NOT be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged. Neither Voucher Express nor Argos is responsible for funds on the card used without your knowledge.

Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash and cash refunds will not be available for products purchased with this card. Voucher Express is not directly linked to Argos and can take no responsibility for products and services offered by Argos. For the same reason, Argos shall not be responsible for services offered by Voucher Express and its associated companies, including without limitation the collection and management of your credit card data and personal information which is collected, processed and managed by Voucher Express.

Gift Card values should be checked immediately upon receipt. Any discrepancies must be notified immediately. Voucher Express cannot be held responsible for shortage or loss of any Gift Card not notified to us within three days of delivery.

Cleared payment is required prior to the dispatch of orders. Payment is taken automatically at the time of purchase by Voucher Express. Your credit/debit card statement will read 'Voucher Express'. We reserve the right to decline any order without providing explanation. Argos will not be given access to your credit/debit card details.

Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash. Gift cards which are defaced, altered or cancelled will not be accepted in Argos stores.

The re-sale of Gift Cards sold via this website is strictly prohibited.

Force Majeure: Voucher Express cannot be held responsible for failure to meet its service obligations when any failure is brought about due to some cause totally beyond its reasonable control. Examples of this might include: acts of God, trade disputes; governmental intervention, fire, flood, and disruption to computer and IT infrastructure.

Breach of these conditions will entitle Voucher Express to seek the appropriate legal remedy available for injunction, damages or otherwise.

Your use of this website is governed by these Terms and Conditions and construed and enforced in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Disputes arising from your use of this website and the services we provide are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
 

Personalisation: Terms and Conditions

In brief: You must have full rights and authority to use any image and other material that you upload into the Argos personalised service (“User Content”). For User Content you upload into the eGift Card personalised service you authorise us to use the User Content to enable us to provide the personalised service to you. If you don’t have the right to do so or you’re not sure, please don’t use them.

You must ensure that User Content does not:

infringe anyone’s copyright or other intellectual property rights such as a trade mark;

infringe anyone’s confidentiality, privacy or data protection rights by ensuring that you have the right to use another person’s image for the personalised service.

We review all orders – if you think the User Content could cause offence or upset to others then don’t use it.

Not for resale. Being able to personalise your eGift Card makes for a great personal gift but we can’t allow use for intended resale purposes.

The terms and conditions set out below apply to the use of the eGift personalised service and incorporate with the standard T&Cs located above. By accessing and browsing this site and/or placing an order you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below and accept without any limitation or qualification. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions you may not use or access this site.

Argos reserves the right to make changes to this site and to these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. You should review these terms and conditions each time you access this website.

Using the personalised eGift Card site- things you must remember:

We want everyone to enjoy using the eGift Card personalised service but there are certain rules and restrictions governing its use.

You must have permission to use the User Content that you upload to the service and defend and hold harmless Argos in the event that claim that the use of any User Content by Argos infringes any third party’s copyright, trade mark, other Intellectual Property right, or right of confidentiality and you shall indemnify Argos for any amounts and costs incurred by or awarded against Argos in judgment, negotiation or settlement of such claims. You must ensure that you either own the copyright to, or are fully licensed to use, images uploaded to this service.

Your personalised message or image must not be offensive, obscene, indecent or profane or be intended to defame, threaten, cause offence, annoyance, embarrassment, distress or other emotional harm to any person. It must not promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age, or that may incite hatred or violence against any person or group

You must not include any material containing a person’s address, phone number, or email address without their permission.

You must not misrepresent a person’s identity in anyway or impersonate any person without their permission.

User Content will not give the impression that it is endorsed by or otherwise emanates from Argos or Voucher Express.

Please be aware that all orders are reviewed by a member of our team.

All personalised orders are subject to review and acceptance.

We reserve the right to reject orders that breach these rules and restrictions.
Under data protection legislation, we are required to provide you with certain information including who we are, how we process your personal data and for what purposes and your rights in relation to your personal data and how to exercise them. All intellectual property rights in the service throughout the world belong to Argos Limited (or our licensors) and the rights in the Argos eGift personalised service are licensed (not sold) to you. You have no intellectual property rights in, or to, the Argos eGift personalised service other than the right to use them in accordance with these terms and conditions.
 
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in the English courts.
